Data-Driven Exercise Equipment

In an age where you need everything in an instant, 1080 Motion has delivered these machines for elite athletes and coaches looking for a competitive advantage. The Sprint and Quantum machines can both be controlled via bluetooth and a smart tablet.

Not only are they data-driven machines, but 1080 Motion has multiple attachments like this one pictured above. It’s the 1080 Sprint line that's attached to the athlete’s belt. The coach can set the pace to help guide the athlete up to speed and release the cable from the belt.

I wish I had this every time I started a run.

Jokes aside, this mechanism can be controlled by the coach via wireless remote or by the athlete with a button located on the belt. The machine also gives athletes real-time data feedback that will help the coach give in-progress cues.

The 1080 Quantum is the at-home gym for elite athletes — and it’s simple. As you can see above, it’s a tower with a sway arm and other purposeful attachments like the squat plate to give the athlete the ability to do almost any movement. The Quantum machine also delivers data in real time via smart tablet or — even better — broadcast to a smart TV.

I know there’s so much more to learn and talk about with the 1080 Motion machines, but I was just happy to photograph these amazing athletes like Nick Monroe, John Burt, and Watson Cusick.
